This little gem is such a find, we were lucky to find it. Mostly sterile form starts of with white to cream fertile florets with just a few (3 last time) sterile petals. Fertile florets turn to clusters of lavender in the summer. Leaves are very smooth and serrated and it reminds me of a petite Arborescens leaf but much more ovate. Our favorite plant hunters found this on the Kii pennisula on Honshu. Enjoy this rare hydrangea, very limited supply.
