Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before using this website. All users of this site agree that access to and use of this site are subject to the following terms and conditions and other applicable law. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use this site.
Our hydrangeas are not florist types and have not been forced to bloom before their natural time. Leaves may be absent if sent in early spring or late fall. We will do our best to send plants with buds in the spring. We cannot promise the plant will bloom and we can't guarantee bloom color. Please carefully select plants rated for your zone. We have assumed you have done your research and we are always happy to help give advice about hardiness if we can.
Here is a general guideline for hydrangea hardiness by family. This is our best estimate for hardiness but not necessarily bud hardiness.
Zone 4 - Paniculata, Petiolaris, Quelpartensis & Arborescens
Zone 5 - Schizophragma & Quercifolia
Zone 6 - Aspera, Macrophylla & Serrata
Zone 7 - Dichroa & Seamanii
Be sure to also incorporate wind chill. These are just guidelines and microclimates and weather patterns may skew zone ratings in your particular area.
New hydrangeas should be protected in colder zones for the first few years to ensure well-developed root systems and branch structures.Hydrangeas can be grown in zones higher or lower than illustrated in our catalog with protection from the cold and the heat.
The utmost care is taken in packing and shipping your hydrangea. We do not ship bare root (with no soil) like other mail order companies, and have found that it is much less shocking to the plant if the hydrangea is shipped with some soil in the root ball. The root ball and soil are wrapped in a small plastic bag, and then the entire plant is wrapped in newspaper and boxed. We typically ship two or three-day service depending on weather conditions.
We will ship your hydrangeas on the first Monday or Tuesday after the order date (cut-off is typically Friday at noon, EST), or on a later date if you make a specific request on the order form. We don't ship on holidays. To our customers in colder environments, we suggest Spring ship dates after the threat of frost is gone. Typically shipping seasons are March - June and September-December.
If your temperatures are above 80 degrees or near freezing, please select an alternative and cooler/warmer ship date. We will not ship if our temperatures are too warm.
We will email you before we ship. Please determine the appropriate planting time in your area. We will ship unless you tell us otherwise. We don't check your weather before we ship.
We will not accept responsibility for the condition of the plants shipped during extreme hot or cold weather conditions.
IF YOUR SHIPMENT IS RETURNED TO US DUE TO YOUR MISTAKE IN ADDRESS OR NOT PICKING UP AT UPS ACCESS POINT, RETURN CHARGES WILL APPLY.
OUR SHIPPING PARTNERS, USPS AND UPS ARE FEELING THE STRAIN OF THE PANDEMIC AND AT TIMES, PACKAGES ARE NOT BEING DELIVERED AS PROMISED.
BOTH CARRIERS HAVE SUSPENDED ANY REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS AT THIS TIME.
We strive for 100% satisfaction and have been very successful in providing our customers with quality hydrangeas. Our plants are grown in real-life conditions and will ease the transition to your real life garden. We do not ship the hydrangeas in their containers so we recommend you plant them right away once they arrive.
We promise to provide healthy, well-rooted and properly identified plants (by us) to our customers. Plants are not guaranteed to have blooms or specified bloom color. Most important, we can't guarantee their survival once the plants leave our care. Their success is ultimately up to you and your expertise and care of these plants. If they don't arrive in good condition, please email email@example.com within 48 hours. Broken branches are to be expected. Yellowing leaves and droopiness is expected but the plants should bounce back within days of being planted. If they don't bounce back in a reasonable period, we will generally replace them at no cost but we require notification of the problem so that we can try and save them. Most often the problem with hydrangeas is planting too deep, in too dense of soil, too much water, sun, or other elements.
We do not replace plants due to your heat, wind, cold weather, chemicals, frost, water or transportation damage/delays.
We ask that you contact us if there is a problem with the plant once it arrives so that we may take action immediately. The more time that passes, the less likely we will be able to help. We assume that you will work with us to try and save any plant in danger of failing. Please keep all shipping materials as we may ask you to send the plant back to us or have UPS/USPS review the damage. If damaged, please take several photographs of the box and contents. If this doesn't happen, we have no recourse with our shipping partner and we cannot guarantee replacements.
At no time will we refund more than the amount of the plants shipped. Actual shipping and handling costs will be deducted from the purchase price in the event of a refund.
The color, sun tolerance and hardiness illustrated in our catalog is the historical evaluations we have for the varieties of hydrangeas that we grow. We cannot guarantee their survival even if the variety is rated for your zone. Microclimates, weather trends and extreme conditions cannot be predicted. Soil conditions too affect the color of the blooms. Newly transplanted plants should be protected the first winter to ensure the roots have been well established.
If you've ordered mail order before, you probably realize that we are very well priced given the size, quality and variety of our plants available. We try to keep our shipping and handling charges in line with our actual costs. Long story short, we don't "overcharge" for our plants in anticipation that some portion will require replacement. Certainly we will replace the plant or give you a credit on your account if there's something wrong with the plant, but generally not due to the environment in which they're a part of at the customer end.
Orders may be canceled at any time prior to packaging. Cancellation/changes to order credits will be applied to your Hydrangeas Plus account. We reserve the right to deduct credit card fees incurred on the transaction. Any order that is canceled after tendered to the shipping company is subject to any cancellation fee the shipping company may charge. We reserve the right to charge restocking fees up to 30% of the total cost of the order if canceled/changed after packaging.

In the event that a Hydrangeas Plus product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price, Hydrangeas Plus reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. Hydrangeas Plus reserves the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, Hydrangeas Plus shall issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.
Use of Site and our Social Media pages
Harassment in any manner or form on the site, including via e-mail, chat, or by use of obscene or abusive language, is strictly forbidden. Impersonation of others, including a Hydrangeas Plus or other licensed employee, host, or representative, as well as other members or visitors on the site is prohibited. You may not upload to, distribute, or otherwise publish through the site any content which is libelous, defamatory, obscene, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, illegal, or otherwise objectionable which may constitute or encourage a criminal offense, violate the rights of any party or which may otherwise give rise to liability or violate any law. You may not upload commercial content on the site or use the site to solicit others to join or become members of any other commercial online service or other organization.
Hydrangeas Plus does not and cannot review all communications and materials posted to or created by users accessing the site, and is not in any manner responsible for the content of these communications and materials. You acknowledge that by providing you with the ability to view and distribute user-generated content on the site, Hydrangeas Plus is merely acting as a passive conduit for such distribution and is not undertaking any obligation or liability relating to any contents or activities on the site. In an attempt to provide increased value to our visitors, Hydrangeas Plus may link to sites operated by third parties. However, even if the third party is affiliated with Hydrangeas Plus, Hydrangeas Plus has no control over these linked sites, all of which have separate privacy and data collection practices, independent of Hydrangeas Plus. These linked sites are only for your convenience and therefore you access them at your own risk. Nonetheless, Hydrangeas Plus seeks to protect the integrity of its web site and the links placed upon it and therefore requests any feedback on not only its own site, but for sites it links to as well (including if a specific link does not work).
